OCN Land Code in effect as of August 1, 2002

The Opaskwayak Cree Nations Lands department administers to 17 parcels of crown reserve land of O.C.N. The department also oversees and manages the use of natural resources such as gravel, sand, Timber. In the past OCN has also negotiated land claims with the provincial government and is an ongoing process where monies is allocated to band programs and services that are yet to be received.

Also the lands department was successful in a June referendum where OCN band members voted 70% for an independent management with the land code now in place and continues to allow OCN to make its own decisions of how to manage its lands.
